What is the St. Alexius Kickball Tournament (SAKT)?

Each year hundreds of babies begin their journey at CHI St. Alexius Health. Our skilled and compassionate nurses are there by mom’s side to lovingly care for mom and baby during baby’s beginning days. SAKT 2019 is a one-day, coed kickball tournament where proceeds will enhance the region’s neonatal services by purchasing new infant warmers and tables for the precious babies served by CHI St. Alexius Health’s Nursery, ensuring our littlest patients are extra comfortable.

Team/Individual Players and Captain Information, Rules and Waivers

Teams: Players must be 16 years of age or older. Teams must consist of 10-15 players (15 is max) with at least five women on a team (see a copy of the rules for more information).

Individual Player(s): If you don’t have enough people to create a SAKT 2018 team you and your friends can register as individuals and we’ll place you on a team. On Monday, September 17, if we do not have enough people who registered as individuals to create teams, you will be notified and will have the option to refund your registration or to make it a straight donation to help purchase the NICU transport incubator. By Wednesday, September 19, you will find out your team’s official name and tournament schedule.

Team/Individual Players Registration Fee and Information

As part of the registration fee, every team is guaranteed at least two games and every participant receives a SAKT 2019 t-shirt. (*Teams that register prior to Wednesday, September 6, are guaranteed to receive SAKT 2019 t-shirts.)

Team Fees:

  • Early-bird registration is $215 per team through Saturday, August 31.
  • Regular registration is $240 per team from Thursday, September 1 through Sunday, September 22. (Cut-off is at midnight.)

Individual Player Fees:

  • Early-bird registration is $30 per individual through Wednesday, August 31.
  • Regular registration is $40 per individual from Thursday, September 1 through Friday, September 14. (Cut-off is at midnight.)
  • You will be notified on Monday, September 17, if we do not have enough people registered as individuals to create teams. You will have the option to refund your registration or elect to make it a straight donation to help purchase the NICU transport incubator.

Team/Individual Fundraising Challenge Information

Fundraise and receive great prizes!

Fundraising individuals: If you’re playing on a team, join your team’s fundraising page. If you’re not playing on a team but want to fundraise, join the SAKT Ambassador Fundraising Team as it consists of people who are passionate about fundraising to advance the region’s neonatal care.

Anyone who fundraises more than $100 is eligible to win prizes during drawings held the day of SAKT. If you fundraise more than $250, you are entered into the drawings as follows: $250-$499 entered five times; $500 - $999 entered 10 times; $1,000+ entered 20 times.

Top Individual Fundraiser Prize: TO BE DETERMINED

Fundraising teams: Fundraising teams can consist of those individuals who are and are not on your SAKT tournament team. All they have to do is register under you team’s fundraising webpage. If you know of someone who wants to be involved, but can’t physically play the day of SAKT, have them join your team’s fundraising efforts.

Top Fundraising Team Prize: TO BE DETERMINED

Fundraising individuals: You can fundraise by creating an individual fundraising webpage and by soliciting cash/check donations. Those who fundraise more than $100 are eligible for the top individual fundraiser prize and to win prizes during SAKT 2018 drawings. If you fundraise more than $250, you are entered into the drawings additional times and are also recognized at the following fundraising levels on the post-event webpage.

Donation Drop Off: Please turn in all donations and completed donation form(s) to your team captain (if on a registered/sponsored team) prior to tournament check-in (see below). If you are fundraising as part of the SAKT Ambassador Fundraising Team, please bring your donations to tournament check-in (see below) to be eligible for prizes.

Best Uniform Challenge

Compete for the title of “Best Uniform” in three categories:

  • Jungle Animals
  • Comic Book Villains (no weapons please)
  • Fashionable (open category)

We want teams to get creative. However, uniforms need to be appropriate as this is a fundraiser for children. Uniforms are judged the day of the tournament by the SAKT Ambassador family and SAKT committee members. The winning teams are announced at the tournament mid-day.

Tournament Check-In and Bracket Info

Team Captains must attend tournament check-in, which is scheduled for Friday, September 27, from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. at Mattress Firm on Expressway located at 413 E Bismarck Expressway.

Tournament brackets will be emailed to team captains and individual players by Wednesday, September 25.

Those individuals who fundraise as part of the SAKT Ambassador Fundraising Team can drop off donations at tournament check-in to be eligible for prizes the day of the tournament.
