More people are surviving cancer than ever before, but it can still impact many aspects of your life. CHI St Alexius Health hosts a variety of programs to help cancer survivors, caregivers, and family, manage the different challenges cancer presents. The sessions are meant to support patients and loved ones whether they are going through active treatment, in surveillance, or grieving the loss of a loved one to cancer. All classes are free and are held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the CHI St. Alexius Health Boniface Auditorium (enter through the east patient entrance) unless otherwise noted.

Exercise to the Bone!
Connie Kleinjan, Physical Therapist and Cori Brothers, Radiology Technologist

Learn safe and effective exercises to build bone strength before, during, and after cancer treatment. Discussion on how cancer treatment and hormone loss can break down the bone. Learn about treatment options and prevention techniques.

Connie Kleinjan

About the Presenter

As a licensed physical therapist, Connie provides a wide range of physical therapy interventions for conditions that interfere with mobility and function. Her professional interests include pain management interventions, musculoskeletal injuries and dysfunction, treatment of low back and neck pain. Other areas of interest include Postural Restoration – a posture based approach, gait analysis, orthotic management, dry needling, occupational health, ergonomics, and orthopedics.

 
 
 

 

Cori Brothers

About the Presenter

Cori Brothers, RTR R CT M, has been a technologist since 2003. She joined CHI St. Alexius Health in 2014 from Minnesota. She is certified in radiography, computer tomography, mammography and is working towards bone densitometry. Having lost her mother to ovarian cancer, she has a passion for womens’ health. Cori is a wife, mother of 3, enjoys gardening, plants and indoor cycling.
