The Night for the Stars fundraiser for CHI St Alexius was held Saturday night.
The sixth annual black tie event raises money for a different department each year. This year, the money raised goes toward the urology department to help with new equipment for a specialized procedure, Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate. It's only done by one doctor in North Dakota, who works at St Alexius, and the goal is to buy new equipment to help the process go quicker, and be able to help more patients.
"It's definitely to help our patients, so we can keep them close to home and help offer this procedure for more individuals who need it,” CHI St. Alexius Foundation Director Kilee Harmon said.
The night included live and silent auctions, a dance, red carpet and more. Harmon says they were hoping to raise about $300,000.
