Study: Heart Attacks Highest On Christmas Eve

While the holidays are supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year, new research shows it can also be the most deadly. A recent study published in the British Medical Journal says your greatest risk for a heart attack, is actually today.

More specifically around 10pm tonight.

The study looked at 280 thousand heart attacks over a 16 year period and it showed the stress that comes with the holidays, coupled with poor eating decisions all let to an increase in heart attack risks. We talked with a Cardiologist about ways to stay calm this holiday season.

"Relaxation, meditation, some people do different hobbies, reading, going for a walk, exercise is always good as far as de-stressing" Said Cardiologist Janel Eckroth at CHI-St Alexius Health.

The study also showed an increase in heart attacks around New Years and summer holidays too.
