CHI St. Alexius Health’s Emergency & Trauma Center will host five nurse practitioner students from University of Mary starting in May, 2019. Each student will participate in an emergency medicine rotation, spending a combined 550 hours with board-certified emergency medicine physicians at CHI St. Alexius.
Working together, CHI St. Alexius Health and University of Mary foster a Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine learning environment, emphasizing servant leadership. Nurse practitioner students will experience a state-of-the-art clinical setting to learn and understand emergency medicine. “Our experienced team of board-certified emergency physicians look forward to this opportunity with the students. We hope this program will become a tradition of excellence in supporting health care education in the region,” said Dr. Jon Solberg, Chief Medical Director CHI St. Alexius Health Emergency & Trauma Center.
CHI St. Alexius Health has been a Level II Trauma Center since 1993. This achievement recognizes the trauma center’s continued dedication to providing optimal care for injured patients.
