CHI St. Alexius Health Motivational Mile and 10K at the Bismarck Marathon

It’s not the longest course at the Bismarck Marathon, but the CHI St. Alexius Motivational Mile has participants taking some of the biggest steps toward achieving health goals. The Mile will serve as a celebration of life for people who have overcome physical and mental obstacles and choose to get back on their feet striving for better health. With the support of family members, friends and onlookers, walkers are sure to feel a sense of accomplishment when they cross the finish line.

Erin Pasley advocates for individuals living with disabilities, especially for her friends with Down Syndrome. Her health journey started when she was in middle school. Having faced traumatic life events, she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and her weight continued to rise. Erin knew she had to make a change. In March she made the decision to have a gastric sleeve with The PrimeCare Surgical Weight Loss Program, and on May 23, 2019 she had the surgery. Today is only the start to the rest of her life. With hard work and dedication in her health journey, Erin is a leader at YoungLife Camp, encouraging high school students of all abilities.

Please consider joining Erin, Brooke, their friends and family, along with our patients and community members at the CHI St. Alexius Health Motivational Mile. Together, WE can take the next steps in supporting a healthy community.

This free, non-competitive walk is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, September 20 at Haaland Field in Cottonwood Park. The longest running marathon in North Dakota is entering its 39th season and has combined it’s fast, flat course design with fun events all weekend. The Bismarck Marathon is a 501c(3) nonprofit corporation run by a volunteer board of running enthusiasts. All proceeds from the Bismarck Marathon go back to support local non-profits that support health and wellness initiatives in our city and across our state.

With breathtaking scenery along the out-and-back course that parallels the Missouri River, runners are treated to a fast, flat course that promises experienced runners new “personal record” opportunities and novices a great race experience. What’s more, the course is USATF certified, meaning marathoners hoping to qualify for the Boston Marathon may do so here.

New this year on the course will be sponsored water stations and mile markers. Each water station and mile marker will be sponsored by a local business who’s employees will be competing for fun awards like best dressed, best themed, most entertaining, and more.
