CHI St. Alexius Health Launches COVID-19 Help Line

Worried about COVID-19?

CHI St. Alexius Health has established a COVID-19 Help Line to help provide coronavirus information, answer questions and direct patients who may be at risk for the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The Help Line is a two-step process for those in the community who are concerned they may have COVID-19. They answer four short questions. Those answers will determine what happens next. They are either directed to more information, Virtual Care or our Help Line where our health care team will determine the next level of care.

“The help line will provide trusted information, while helping to identify those at risk for COVID-19 and getting them help,” says Kurt Schley, president of CHI St. Alexius Health.

The Help Line is also working to contain virus spread according to Dr. Lisa Laurent, Chief Medical Officer of CHI St. Alexius Health. “When you limit exposure, you limit the spread of the virus. Rather than having people visit their doctor’s office, potentially sharing germs, they can go online, take the questionnaire and then be directed to the right level of care,” says Dr. Laurent.

In addition to the Help Line, CHI St. Alexius has a coupon for one free, COVID-related, Virtual Care visit.

“Virtual Care is a great option for people who are trying to avoid public places. You can be treated for a minor ailment, like a sinus infection, without leaving home,” says Dr. Laurent.

Through Virtual Care, patients can talk to a doctor or nurse practitioner by phone or computer. The service, which can be used for a variety of minor medical problems like urinary tract infections and sore throats, is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
