Todd Preszler, MD, Receives Benedictine Spirit Award

CHI St. Alexius Health Bismarck awarded Todd Preszler, MD, the 2019 Benedictine Spirit Award. The Benedictine Spirit Award is presented annually to a physician who provides distinguished service to patients and upholds the mission and values outlined by the Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery.

Dr. Preszler demonstrates these values on a daily basis acknowledged by his colleagues and peers. His experience in anesthesiology services and his training and interest in medical education have enabled him to be a part of teaching new physician applicants who have joined the medical staff.

Dr. Preszler has contributed significantly to the growth and well-being of CHI St. Alexius Health. He has served as department chair of anesthesiology since its inception in 2013. Dr. Preszler serves on several medical staff committees including; Medical Executive Committee, Member CHI St. Alexius Health Board of Directors with the appointment to the Quality and Values Committee, Member Physician-Administration Joint Conference Committee, and Ad Hoc Member of Operating Room Committee. His lecture presentations conducted at Mayo Clinic include anesthetic management of patients on cocaine; TURP Syndrome, infections associated with blood transfusions and treatment of Oliguria in hepato-renal syndrome.

Dr. Preszler earned his medical degree from University of South Dakota School of Medicine, Vermillion, S.D. He completed both an internship and residency in anesthesiology from Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education, Rochester, Minn. Dr. Preszler is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is a member of American Society of Anesthesiologists, Catholic Medical Assocation, Bismarck Catholic Physicians Guild, Mayo Fellows Association, and the North Dakota Society of Anesthesiologists.
