The CHI North Dakota Violence Prevention Program is hosting its 2021 Spotlight on Prevention Summit on June 10, 2021 from 1 - 5 pm central. This free, virtual event will bring together professionals and community members statewide. The summit will feature Dr. Alan Berkowitz noted scholar, researcher, public speaker and founding figure in the development of Social Norms Theory. Dr. Berkowitz has over twenty-five years of experience in higher education as a trainer, psychologist, faculty member, and Counseling Center Director. He is a leader in Social Norms Theory research and implementation of the model.
The event will explore the Social Norms Approach to Violence Prevention. Focusing on best practices in prevention, misperceptions and key concepts of social norms theory, and bystander intervention this robust event will provide attendees with actionable steps to make a difference in their work and in the community.
All are welcome to attend this free, virtual event. Free continuing education credits have been requested for various professionals. Registration is required.
