CHI St. Alexius Health is thrilled to recognize the acceptance of four associates into the 2022-23 CommonSpirit Provider Leadership Academy. Please join us in congratulating Vanna Binning, MD, FAAFP Minot Medical Plaza; Cody L. Chathams, CRNA, Anesthesiology; Andrea Kilzer, Lead APP Urgent Care; and John Smetana, PA, Garrison Clinic, for this prestigious honor.
Our chosen associates will join a cohort of approximately 70 physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) from 12 states across our ministry. Executive leaders nominated clinicians from St. Alexius for demonstrating a passion for leadership and learning. The network’s council reviewed nominees from CommonSpirit Health system entries and selected the final candidates.
“We look upon the graduates as an increasingly active voice in our system, participating in and leading initiatives that drive clinical and operational standards of excellence,” states Dr. J’Patrick Fahn, interim chief medical officer, CHI St. Alexius Health.
The academy’s goal is to prepare physicians and APPs with the tools to advance within the organization in various leadership roles. The curriculum equips participants to address challenges they may encounter as health care leaders throughout their careers, including self-leadership, fundamentals of leadership, team leadership, and communication. The program’s monthly sessions start in July and conclude with an in-person cohort graduation in June 2023.
