Healthy Communities is:
“Reaching beyond the walls of our facility to build healthy communities in collaboration with individual citizens, community organizations and other providers of health and human services. CHI St. Alexius Health, Carrington creates value based, forward looking models of health.”
The Healthy Communities Coalition of Carrington, ND, focuses on healthy ways for the community to live in a fun and healthy manner, and ways in which alcohol, drugs and tobacco will not be used.
The coalition’s main goal is to provide positive, fun and hope filled activities for the adults and children in our community. The coalition has promoted The Kid Experience, Imagination Library, the BackPack program and Community Learning nights. In addition, the coalition is consistently listening to the community members regarding the culture surrounding alcohol use. The coalition has been part of the “Targeted Community” program from the Department of Health & Human Services followed by SPFSIG grant programming. The coalition is currently involved in the PFS grant program with Foster County Public Health.
