Carrington, ND - A half-day seminar will be held to empower patients to become more informed and involved with their diabetes care on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Registration is set for 8:30 am – 9 am followed by presentations from 9:00 - 11:15 am at the CHI St. Alexius Health, Carrington, CMC West Conference Room, Carrington, ND. Lunch for participants will be provided from 11:15 am – 12 Noon.
Topics to be discussed during the seminar include:
- “Meal Planning for Diabetes” presented by Brooke Fredrickson, RDN, LRD, CDE
- “ABC’s of Diabetes” presented by Dr. Eric Johnson, UND School of Medicine and Altru Health System
Certified Diabetes Educator Brooke Fredrickson, RDN, LRD, CDE of CHI St. Alexius Health, Carrington will also be available for questions from the group. Brooke maintains accreditation of the Carrington Medical Center Diabetes Education Program and provides community member education.
Pre-registration is required for the education day and can be done by calling Brooke Fredrickson at 701.652.7224. Most insurance plans provide coverage for this service. Two hours of diabetes education will be billed to each participant’s insurance plan. If a pre-registered participant does not have coverage, they will be notified prior to the beginning of Diabetes Education Day. For those who walk-in and register the day of the event, CHI St. Alexius Health, Carrington cannot guarantee you will have coverage for the service.
