Faith In Action drivers Carole Pepple and Bill Bauer were recently recognized for their service to the patients of CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington. Pepple and Bauer give of their time and the use of their vehicles to bring community members to medical appointments either in or out of town.
The drivers were recognized with a meal and presentation of a certificate along with a custom patch in the shape of a tire denoting each 5,000 mile increment of their service. The recent recognition presented Pepple and Bauer each with their third custom patch. To date Pepple has driven 17,755 miles since she began driving for the program in 2009, and Bauer has driven 15,135 miles since he began driving for the program in 2015.
Each driver volunteers their time and uses their personal vehicle for the program. The miles driven for each appointment are reimbursed at the IRS rate.
