Emergency related education, knowledge and skills are vital to providing quality care.  Regularly scheduled classes for healthcare professionals are offered by members of CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital.  From more information on the following courses, please call Melissa at 701.662.9713.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Physicians, mid-level providers, paramedics, nurses, and other advanced level healthcare providers are required to maintain proficiency in adult resuscitation knowledge and sills that go beyond basic chest compressions and rescue breathing.  This class provides instruction and practice from new or expired certifications.

Pediatric Advanced Lift Support

There are differences between adult and pediatric resuscitation.  Similar to Advanced Cardiac Life Support, physicians, mid-level providers, paramedics, nurses, and other advanced level healthcare providers are required to maintain proficiency in advanced pediatric resuscitation knowledge and skills.  This class provides instruction and practice for new of expired certifications.

Trauma Nursing Core Course

The Trauma Nursing core course is a 16-20 hour program which includes selected didactic presentations and skill stations.  It was developed by emergency and trauma nursing experts and is made available to you through the Emergency Nurses Association.  Core-level knowledge and psychomotor skills associated with implementing the trauma nursing process are presented.
