CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital hosts 2nd Annual Lights of Mercy Community Tree Lighting

As the season changes to winter and we begin to think about our upcoming holiday plans, we also take the time to reflect on the past year and remember our loved ones who have passed away or have needed some extra prayers. The annual community tree lighting held at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital is an opportunity for our community to come together to honor and pray for our family, friends and loved ones.

This year Amachi Mentoring and CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Foundation have come together to host the 2nd Annual Lights of Mercy Community Tree Lighting to be held on Thursday, November 30th. This special event will begin with children’s activities and sleigh rides for families at 4:30pm followed by the tree lighting ceremony at 5:30pm.

Colored lights can be purchased on the Lights of Mercy tree “In Memory of”, “Honor of” or “Prayers for” a family, friends or loved one or on the white Angel of Hope tree in memory of infants and children who have passed away. Proceeds from the purchased lights will go equally to Amachi Mentoring and CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Foundation.

The proceeds will help Amachi Mentoring raise funds to hire a case manager to oversee quality matching of mentors and youth. Amachi Mentoring helps children of incarceration and at-risk youth by providing them with trained, caring, volunteer mentors.

The proceeds will also help CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital Foundation raise funds for the expansion and renovation of our Emergency Room to improve privacy, provide more patient rooms and allow us to deliver more timely and efficient care for the patients we serve. The Devils Lake Hospital Foundation’s sole purpose is to support and enhance the health care mission of CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital.

To purchase lights, please contact Anna Walter at 662.9707 or [email protected]

We thank you for your support and wish you a blessed and happy holiday!
