The health of our community starts with you! 

You can’t live in our area and not be aware that we as a community face challenges. This past year added additional complexity as COVID-19 touched every aspect of our daily life – from business, to schools to health care.

CHI St. Alexius is committed to addressing the ever-changing health care needs of our community. That is why we partner with Upper Missouri District Health Unit and various community leaders to conduct a health needs assessment every three years!


CHI St. Alexius Health Residency Program Graduation

WILLISTON, N.D. - This Thursday, June 24, CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Residency Program will be hosting an informal graduation celebration for its two UND Family Medicine Rural Track Resident Physicians, Dr. Sohail Shariff and Dr. Afaq Sharieff.

Staff get decontamination training at CHI St. Alexius Williston

Healthcare personnel from Williston, Tioga, Watford City and Rolla were on-site at CHI for Hospital Hazmat and Decontamination training, learning the steps necessary to handle a chemical contamination. More than a dozen staff took part in the training, which was presented by Heartland Consulting Group out of Bismarck. “This is so if we would ever have a chemical spill or chemical patients, we would know what to do.”

CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Supports Local Education

The CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Foundation has received a grant from the State Office of Rural Health program to help execute a portion of the community health needs assessment conducted in 2019 by the UND Center for Rural Health on behalf of CHI St. Alexius Health.

One area identified as a need in the community health needs assessment is access to Behavioral Health Resources. Funds received from this grant will be used to purchase educational resources for local teachers to use in engaging with students who may be engaging in risky behaviors and suffering from mental health related issues.

Williston Facility Receives a Caring Foundation Grant to Improve Employee Wellness

WILLISTON, N.D. – The CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Foundation recently received a Blue Cross Blue Shield of ND Caring Foundation Rural Grant which will be used to increase engagement in wellness initiatives through education of health and wellness.

CHI Summit to Host National Expert, Dr. Alan Berkowitz

The CHI North Dakota Violence Prevention Program is hosting its 2021 Spotlight on Prevention Summit on June 10, 2021 from 1 - 5 pm central. This free, virtual event will bring together professionals and community members statewide. The summit will feature Dr. Alan Berkowitz noted scholar, researcher, public speaker and founding figure in the development of Social Norms Theory. Dr. Berkowitz has over twenty-five years of experience in higher education as a trainer, psychologist, faculty member, and Counseling Center Director. He is a leader in Social Norms Theory research and implementation of the model.
