CHI St. Alexius Health Pharmacist is Honored
WILLISTON, N.D. – CHI St. Alexius Health is proud to announce that Dave Sandberg, pharmacy director has been honored as the Bowl of Hygeia 2020 award recipient by the ND Pharmacists Association. The last pharmacist in Williston to receive this distinguished honor was in 1986.
Dave has many notable accomplishments throughout his career. He currently serves on the CHI 340B regional and national advisory groups where his efforts have secured free or low-cost medications to patients in need. Dave is also a member of the national Medication Use Effectiveness Committee and has served on the ND Pharmacist Association for over 40 years.
“Dave’s hard work and commitment continues to be recognized state-wide by his colleagues and is now being honored through this prestigious award,” said Dan Bjerknes, president of CHI St. Alexius Health. “This well-deserved recognition is just one more way our patients can be assured they are receiving high-quality care right here in Williston.”
Established in 1958, the Bowl of Hygeia Award recognizes pharmacists who possess outstanding records of civic leadership. Always active in his community, Dave is a Lions Club member, served on two church councils, held the office of mayor in Stanley and served on the Stanley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He has also volunteered his time with local ambulance services and the Fire Department.
The Bowl of Hygiea Award was originally developed by the A. H. Robins Company to recognize pharmacists across the nation for outstanding service to their communities. Nominees are accepted throughout the year and reviewed and winner chosen by a group of respected pharmacist from the ND Pharmacists Association.
