Farm Credit Services of North Dakota is proud to announce that it has awarded Mercy Medical Center dba CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Medical Center $5,000 as a recipient of the Rural Community Grant Fund (RCGF). The grant funds will help purchase a portable transport monitor.
Representatives from CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Medical Center are pleased to accept the check and utilize the grant funds towards this critical mobile monitoring unit.
“Farm Credit is proud to provide grant funds to help them purchase essential equipment that allows a patient’s vital signs to be constantly monitored in the event the patient must be moved - and moved safely,” says David Hokanson, Williston Branch Manager with Farm Credit Services of North Dakota. CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Medical Center provides critical medical and life-saving services in Williams County and surrounding rural communities, even into Montana. Farm Credit Services believes it’s important to support local communities. “This new transport monitor will ensure that the golden hours of stabilizing and treating a patient occurs and demonstrates improved outcomes for critical trauma patients,” Hokanson adds.
CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Director of Patient Care Services in the ER, Jami Murie says, "We want to thank Farm Credit Services for awarding us the grant funds to purchase a transport monitor. This equipment allows us to safely monitor and help care for our patients at all times.”
Farm Credit Services of North Dakota, Farm Credit Services of Mandan and AgriBank, established the Rural Community Grant Fund to assist in the implementation and development of projects and programs in communities and rural areas in western North Dakota which have been impacted by mineral exploration.
