Outpatient Treatment

CHI St. Alexius Health currently has the ONLY Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in the region. The Partial Hospitalization Program is an intensive outpatient treatment program designed for individuals who are experiencing mental health and/or substance abuse challenges.

From depression and anxiety, to personality disorders, substance abuse and other types of addictions, the Partial Hospitalization Program helps individuals manage their personal struggles, without the need for inpatient hospitalization.

A Team Approach

The individuals participating in the program learn coping skills through group-based therapies so they can function more effectively in their daily lives.

PHP offers intensive group-based treatment for adults age 18 and over, during day time hours.

The program offers a multi-disciplinary team approach that consists of a psychiatrist, licensed addiction counselor, licensed social worker, professional counselor, occupational therapist, and psychiatric nurse.

The program is located in a home-like setting, apart from the medical center, but still on its campus. Program hours run from 8 am until 2 pm Monday through Friday, typically lasting four to six weeks.

The Program includes:

  • Group therapy
  • Psychotherapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Education
  • Nursing services
  • Medication monitoring
  • Weekly meetings with a psychiatrist
  • Family interventions
  • Aftercare

Dual Diagnosis Program:

The dual diagnosis program is designed to treat individuals who have a chemical dependency along with mental health issues such as depression or anxiety. The program offers tools to assist with mental and emotional stabilization, healthy life balance, and a clean and sober lifestyle.
