Outpatient Treatment
CHI St. Alexius Health currently has the ONLY in person Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in the Bismarck/Mandan area. The Partial Hospitalization Program is a day treatment program designed for individuals who are experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges.
From depression and anxiety, to personality disorders, substance use and other types of addictions, the Partial Hospitalization Program helps individuals manage their personal struggles, without the need for inpatient hospitalization.
A Team Approach
The individuals participating in the program learn coping skills through group-based, individual, and family therapies so they can function more effectively in their daily lives.
The program offers a multi-disciplinary team approach that consists of a psychiatrist, licensed addiction counselor, licensed social worker, professional counselor, occupational therapist, and psychiatric nurse.
The program from admission to discharge typically lasts 4-6 weeks. The client comes to programming during day time hours and returns home for evenings and overnight.
The Program includes:
- Group therapy
- Psychotherapy
- Occupational therapy
- Educational services provided to remain on pace with current curriculum in school
- Nursing services
- Medication monitoring
- Weekly meetings with a psychiatrist
- Family interventions
Dual Diagnosis Program:
The dual diagnosis program is designed to treat individuals who have a chemical dependency along with mental health issues such as depression or anxiety. The program offers tools to assist with mental and emotional stabilization, healthy life balance, and a clean and sober lifestyle. Family programming is incorporated into each patient's treatment plan.
