Cancer Care

Cancer Fighting Services

CHI St. Alexius Health provides expert cancer care to the region. We’re giving patients hope by offering the latest advancements and a robust team to help through every stage of cancer care and disorders of the blood.

Hear from some of our patients about their experience and the importance of screening and early detection.

Diagnostic Imaging

We pay attention to the differences. Because, like people, every cancer is unique. Our truly personal approach combines an expert team with the latest advances – including the first digital PET/CT imaging system in Bismarck. It detects cancerous tumors as small as 1.4 mm and requires less scan time.

Cancer Rehabilitation

Several challenges can be caused by cancer and cancer treatment. The rehabilitation team includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists and lymphedema therapists – all working together to help with the many issues and side effects of cancer treatments.

Our oncology rehabilitation team can help with many issues and side effects of cancer treatments including:

  • Acute and chronic pain
  • Fatigue, during and following cancer treatments
  • Weakness
  • Neuropathy (numbness/tingling in hands and feet)
  • Lymphedema
  • Speech, swallowing difficulties
  • Cognitive difficulties
  • Balance/Falls
  • Range of motion or tightness
  • Clinical Trials

Not every patient needs the latest clinical trial. For those who do, we proudly provide this sophisticated level of care. Ask about our many cancer clinical trials available.

Cancer Support Services

A variety of support groups, classes and survivorship programs are available to assist cancer survivors, caregivers and their families through the many challenges cancer presents. All are invited to join one or all of our survivorship programs, designed to help you manage the challenges cancer presents.
