CommonSpirit Health and Altru Health System Announce Transition of CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake to Altru

CommonSpirit Health and Altru Health System have officially completed the transaction to transfer ownership of CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake to Altru Health System, effective March 1, 2026, marking an important milestone in expanding access to care across the Lake Region.

The transition brings the hospital in Devils Lake under Altru Health System, strengthening local access to comprehensive, high-quality care while ensuring patients can continue to receive services close to home. Going forward, the hospital will now be known as Altru Hospital Devils Lake.

will be expanding services and enhancing care offerings to better meet the needs of this important community."

This milestone reflects a collaboration between CommonSpirit and Altru, guided by a shared commitment to ensure rural communities continue to have access to strong, sustainable healthcare services. Medical records have been fully synchronized across the network, and the provider team will support both Altru Hospital Devils Lake and Altru Clinic Devils Lake.
